What are The Techno Teams?

The Techno Teams are the following three FIRST teams of Heart of the Hudson Girl Scouts:

            The Techno Chicklettes – Girls ages 6-9 participate in the Junior FIRST LEGO League program

            The Techno Girls – Girls ages 9-14 participate in the FIRST LEGO League Program

            The Techno Chix – Girls ages 14-18 participate in the FIRST Tech challenge

What is FIRST?

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology)

FIRST was founded in 1989 to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology. Based in Manchester, NH, the 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit public charity designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge and life skills. One of the Girl Scout Heart of the Hudson initiatives is to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and working with the FIRST organization gives us a great opportunity.
